Hey everyone! I know the updates have been few and far between, but we have been working on an exciting new project that’s coming super soon. Can’t wait to tell you more soon!

Ahhh yes. Another Nashville summer. The theme of 2018 is called “how do I prevent myself from melting” and also Aperol spritzes.

There are a lot of things I love about summer, but one of my favorite things is vacations. I don't know if it's nostalgia for summer break, but there's something about going on vacation during warm weather that makes you feel like a kid again.
Of course, being a grown up means that your vacations usually involve more booze and less crafting those lizards out of beads. While I could wax on about what to pack for the perfect summer vaycay, I'm gonna focus on the most important thing: What wine should be your travel companion?

I've never really identified with the term low-key.
Technically, low-key means keeping something chill, or more restrained, but most of the time that doesn't really work for me. I'm more obsessively high-key. When I like something, it's not just "cool" or "great," it's "THE BEST THING EVER," or "OMG AMAZING." I tend to be really into the things I love, whether it's a place (hey Nashville!), a person or pet (don't get me started talking about my kitten Holland), or a movie (I had a regrettable Lord of the Rings phase early in my high school career). Conversely, the things I don't like tend to be "THE WORST THING EVER," (don't get me started on the word nestle).
Perhaps unsurprisingly, this also applies to most of my wine drinking experiences.

So I’ll admit, I’ve actually had this whole post planned out for like a month, but with summer and everything it’s been difficult to actually sit down and write it. Weirdly, it turned out to be a good thing, because I’ve had a life-altering experience over the weekend that I feel like talking about instead.
So in case anyone missed the memo, it’s hot here. Not quite Alabama hot yet, but it’s getting up there. It’s the kind of day where you basically have two options: hide inside in the air conditioning or haul yourself out to the pool and stay there all day.

One of my favorite summer activities is making playlists. Summer always has so many fun activities: road trips, weddings...day drinking. All of these activities are fun by themselves, but there's something about certain songs that just remind me of summer. I love the challenge of creating the perfect playlist for the occasion—after all, what's a road trip without listening to "Take it Easy" by the Eagles, or dancing at a wedding without "Sweet Caroline"? Plus, heaven forbid we have a day of day-drinking without listening to "That's the Way It Is" by the incomparable Celine Dion (okay maybe that one's a little more subjective...).
Like the perfect soundtrack, there's also something about drinking Rose that just reminds me of summer. Maybe it's the festive color or the berry flavors, but I've definitely been in the mood for #roseallday the past month.

It's finally spring here in Nashville, which means that while there may be an unnatural amount of rain, we are also seeing blue skies for the first time in what feels like forever. I think that no matter how long I live in Nashville, I'll always be a true Californian (i.e. I'm kind of like a lizard and need to be in the sun constantly).
Today however I am here not only to wax on about springtime, but also to talk about an American classic: Moby Dick. Most people will remember Moby Dick as this hugely famous (and hugely boring) novel that may or may not have been assigned reading in high school or college. As fascinating as roughly 927 pages of insights on whaling may be, the book is mostly famous for the idea of a "white whale." A white whale basically refers to something that a person is obsessed with, but that remains out of reach. Although I'm no Captain Ahab, I too have my own white whale: Txakolina.

Once upon a time, when I was a wee Molly, I lived in a neighborhood with about ten other kids. Most of my childhood memories are tied to that neighborhood: exploring in the boy across the street's power-wheel car, eating tortillas made by the girl next door's grandmother, and running from imaginary spiders with the boy who lived four houses down.
One of my best friends and neighbors at the time was a bit older than me, and was particularly talented at getting me to try new ideas that typically... weren't great (see examples like seeing how far we could jump off the swings, collecting hail in buckets, and trying to tame the cat that lived under our porch).
One day he presented his latest idea: Sneaky Snacks.

Have you ever have one of those movies that you'd watch as a child that wasn't actually good, but you loved it anyway?
When my sister and I were little, there were a few movies that we would watch over and over (and over). Whether it was The Princess and the Goblin (me), or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Haley), every time we visited Video Palace we'd beg my dad to rent one (or both. Usually both).
Our insistence on watching the same movie roughly a million times eventually affected my dad so much that he made a new movie rule: When we went to the video store, he got to choose the movie.

Welcome back friends! I hope your new year is off to an amazing start. We recently got quite a bit of snow here in Nashville, which was... exciting? I tramped around a bit in my rainboots, so that was cool. I’m still a California girl though, and I get freaked out by large amounts of snow. But on to better things.
Today we have a very important topic to discuss, and that topic is wine tasting.
