Welcome back friends! I hope your new year is off to an amazing start. We recently got quite a bit of snow here in Nashville, which was... exciting? I tramped around a bit in my rainboots, so that was cool. I’m still a California girl though, and I get freaked out by large amounts of snow. But on to better things.

I love games.
Not as in, "daaaaaang that girl loves playing games," or as in "quit playing games with my heart," but actual games, like Catch Phrase, and Taboo, and Balderdash.
While I am admittedly terrible at any game involving strategy (I stay far away from Risk, Monopoly, and anything else that requires plotting), I love how playing games can bring a group of people together.
Recently, my friend group has been playing Cards Against Humanity. For those of you who may not be familiar with this game, think Apples to Apples, but with cards that are a little more... scandalous. (okay, maybe a lot more scandalous... sometimes I'm not even sure what a card actually is, but I know it's not good).
However, I've found that when playing Cards Against Humanity, the winning cards are not always necessarily the ones that make you gasp with embarrassment. Instead, they are the cards that are unexpected (A Falcon with a Cap on its Head is always a popular one), the ones that startle a laugh because despite what you were expecting- you weren't expecting "what makes a romantic evening" to end with A Really Cool Hat.

Since there are quite a few people in the world who aren't red wine drinkers, we decided to dedicate one day a week to celebrating what's best about white wines. On our radar this week is the Caliza “Kissin' Cousins,” (scandalous, I know!) which I discovered a few years ago when I was working at winery on the Central Coast. For me, the perfect white is something that has a little bit of stone fruit flavor (aka peach and apricot, aka fruits with stones in the middle), and bonus points if it’s got some honey flavors. This one covers all the bases.
